Be part of Surf Life Saving WA's new chapter

We understand that it's important for you to know that your donations stay local, supporting surf lifesaving efforts in Western Australia (WA). And while the way we manage Surf Life Saving Western Australia donations is changing, we’re pleased to assure you that your support will continue to benefit WA volunteer surf lifesavers.

Here’s how it works

Surf Life Saving Western Australia’s fundraising operations are transitioning to one integrated fundraising unit with the Surf Life Saving Foundation. The Foundation is the national fundraising arm of Surf Life Saving Australia, which distributes funds raised from generous supporters to the Surf Life Saving entities around the country, including Surf Life Saving Western Australia. You can read more about the Surf Life Saving Foundation here - https://slsfoundation.com.au/about-us.

Importantly, the work that Surf Life Saving Western Australia performs to preserve the safety of our beautiful beaches and coastline here in Western Australia (WA) will continue unaffected.

Surf Life Saving Western Australia’s transition to combine efforts with national fundraising means more streamlined fundraising, processes and reduced overhead costs, which ultimately will lead to enhanced Surf Life Saving services around the country, and importantly here in WA. The Surf Life Saving entities working together means more investment in surf lifesaving operations, emergency services, community education, and training of volunteer surf lifesavers.

Below, we have populated frequently asked questions about the transition in our fundraising efforts. These questions are designed to provide clarity and assurance regarding how this change will affect our supporters and the surf lifesaving initiatives in Western Australia.

Surf Lottery frequently asked questions

Western Australia (WA) residents are currently not eligible to enter Surf Life Saving Lottery games due to state regulatory conditions, and restrictions that relate to the format of our existing games. Permits are issued for lottery games by each state, and rest assured we are working to bring our games to Surf Life Saving supporters in WA soon.

If your residential address is in a state where we currently hold a lottery permit, you will be able to purchase tickets in our games, even if you are currently elsewhere in the country. Our website does check your current location and may restrict ticket purchase in states where we do not hold permits, so if this is the case, please call our Supporter Services team on 1800 642 999 to purchase. Note you will need to provide identification that shows your residential address in order to claim any prize.
