When volunteer surf lifesavers raise the red and yellow flags each morning ready for patrol, they prepare themselves to go into battle at any moment. Saving lives can be likened to going into battle; surf lifesavers rely upon their training, lifesaving equipment and rescue instinct to respond in an emergency, not knowing exactly what they will be faced with.

Donate now to Surf Life Saving Australia as we strive for Zero preventable deaths at Australian beaches. Donate before June 30th to ensure your donation is tax deductible for the financial year 23/24. Australians like you keep our volunteer surf lifesavers on our beaches, with the equipment they need to save lives.

Nationally, Surf Life Saving services have conducted close to 6,000 rescues since the start of summer (n=5,987), that is from 1 December 2022 up to and including 19th February 2023.
