Choose your My Mission Zero challenge and help us achieve our Mission Zero

Here at Surf Life Saving Australia, we’re striving for zero preventable deaths in Australian waters. Help us reach Mission Zero with a 30-day challenge of 'zero something' and raise vital funds to help save lives.

It could be:

  • Zero hangovers (your liver will cheer)
  • Zero takeaway (a great way to save some $$$)
  • Zero rest days (set a challenge that suits your fitness level and reap the benefits)
  • Zero screen time (perhaps set yourself a window of 2 - 3 hours each night and feel the benefits of a good night’s rest)
  • Zero hitting snooze (if you know, you know)
  • Zero negative self-talk (a mental health challenge that will test and uplift you)
  • Zero plastics (we can all make steps to improve on reducing our plastics, why not hit your local beach or creek and throw on some gloves and pick up some rubbish?)
  • Zero swearing (set up a swear jar at home or in the office, and donate all your change)
  • Zero dating apps (we all know that one person)
  • Zero retail therapy (save your wallet and reduce land fill all in one challenge)
  • Zero to 100 challenge (start at 0km and work your way up to reach 100km of walking, running, or hiking over the 30 days)

You can also choose your own challenge – #MyMissionZero is the challenge for everyone.

Testimonials from some of our participants

It was very enjoyable. I like that it gave me an extra incentive to create better habits for myself, and it's always good to do a little something for the community along the way.

It has been a good way to get back into some regular exercise. Across the challenge I missed 6 or 7 days (I think) but it’s been a good way of keeping me accountable to the challenge. Overall, a big thumbs up for the campaign idea.

My Mission Zero helped me to achieve a much needed goal, and helped raise funds for SLSF, so it's a win/win deal!

We’re on a mission to reduce preventable drowning deaths to zero, but we need your help to get there. Taking on My Mission Zero shows your commitment to saving lives and also helps Surf Life Saving to be a hero of a better Australia. Surf lifesavers rescue an average of 30 people every day. In a year, that leads to more than 11,000 lives saved. With My Mission Zero, you’re playing a part in every life saved and helping us reach our Mission Zero of zero preventable deaths in Australian waters.
