The right tool for the job

What do Surf Life Saving and Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) vehicles have in common, you might ask? They are both dependable, up for any challenge, and relied upon, day-in and day-out.

As an organisation that saves hundreds of thousands of lives and has an impact on more than 500 million beachgoers each year, we couldn’t do it without the support of proud partners like Isuzu UTE.

Away from the red and yellow flags, Surf Life Saving strives to expand its work in the community to promote surf safety education and awareness as a crucial part of breaking the drowning cycle.

Each year Surf Life Saving invests a considerable amount of time and resources into educating members of the public about beach and water safety. We do this off the back of an unrelenting belief that prevention is better than cure, and that an educated swimmer is far less likely to find themselves in trouble while in the water.

Surf Life Saving is committed to spreading the surf safety message at all opportunities and building on our community awareness programs remains a key priority. But none of this would be possible without our valued partners, like Isuzu UTE Australia.

With their reputation for reliability, capability and versatility preceding them, a fleet of Isuzu D-MAX Utes and MU-X 7-Seat SUVs have been supporting our surf lifesavers across the country for over a year—patrolling beaches and within the community. With our surf lifesavers often facing challenging conditions on our shores, it’s essential to have dependable and durable tools they can rely on, so that you can enjoy a great day out at the beach.

On top of this, while Surf Life Saving’s public awareness initiatives are designed to educate all members of the community, there are also a series of programs which have been tailored to target high–risk groups, including men aged 18–25 years, rural populations, international and domestic tourists, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and school students.

Through targeted programs, educational resources, school and community visits—which on average connects with 1.75 million people annually to provide education about coastal and aquatic safety— Surf Life Saving is ensuring high risk groups and the general public benefit from comprehensive and engaging surf safety messages.

But whatever the job may be, it is important to have the right tool for the job—especially for keeping our beaches safe. When it comes to choosing the right tool, the Isuzu D-MAX has been engineered to suit any purpose—blending a tough ladder-frame chassis for carrying capacity, with a torquey 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine for efficiency and pulling power. Couple this with the latest in safety and connectivity technology and it is evident why the D-MAX is a popular choice both on worksites across the country and on our beaches supporting our surf lifesavers.

If more space for up to seven people is what is needed, then the Isuzu MU-X SUV ticks the box as a practical family hauler. Engineered with the same reliable engine, safety & connectivity technology, but combined with welcomed creature comforts and refinements, the MU-X is the family-friendly all-rounder for the school runs and nine-to-five commute during the week and for towing the caravan or boat on the weekend. With this in mind, there is no mystery as to why the D-MAX and MU-X are the perfect tools for our surf lifesavers.

With your support and donations, our surf lifesavers are equipped with the right gear and equipment ready to save a life at a moment’s notice. And, for our upcoming Tax Appeal, IUA will be generously matching your donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $82,400—giving our surf lifesavers double the help, to further ensure you can 'Go Your Own Way' with confidence.
